I create portraits and paintings that use bold color, strong line, and carefully built compositions to make subjects feel new. Color is one of my main tools. I am interested in what happens when color stops behaving the way we expect it to. I use warm and cool colors, high contrast, saturated into high-chroma and unexpected color relationships to bend the subject into something more vivid and dramatic. I want the work to feel gaudy and elegant at the same time. I strive for bright, excessive, and almost impossible to ignore, but carefully controlled. My compositions are grounded in classical ideas of proportion, balance, and the Golden Ratio (φ), while my visual language comes from more modern sources. My color influences range from the rich, luminous colors of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood to the original polychromy of Greek sculpture and the graphic linework of comic-book art. I am drawn to the tension between these worlds: the ancient and the modern, the refined and the outrageous, the realistic and the imagined. At its core, my work is about making opposites work together. I use classical structure to give modern imagery a strong foundation, then push color, light, and reality beyond what we normally expect. The goal is not simply to make something colorful. It is to make color change the way we see the subject. I want the finished work to feel both familiar and strange. A scene or a portrait you recognize, transformed by color into something you could not have expected to see. https://www.oneandonlyziggy.com/contact daily 0.75 2021-04-03 https://www.oneandonlyziggy.com/originals daily 0.75 2022-02-20 https://www.oneandonlyziggy.com/shop-1 daily 1.0 2022-02-19 https://www.oneandonlyziggy.com/environments daily 0.75 2026-10-27 https://www.oneandonlyziggy.com/environments/dayz---chernarus monthly 0.5 2026-10-27 https://www.oneandonlyziggy.com/environments/dayz---livonia monthly 0.5 2026-10-27 https://www.oneandonlyziggy.com/environments/dayz---nasdara monthly 0.5 2026-10-27 https://www.oneandonlyziggy.com/environments/dayz---sakhal monthly 0.5 2026-10-27 https://www.oneandonlyziggy.com/environments/p/the-echo-vase-ngz3t-xm5ez monthly 0.5 2026-10-27 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5ffa16ab6296c62df8760871/1780932030.515123-MWLRZSBGQAFJJOWXFUFW/imgg-gg3p-BC-DQ-M-4f538cf7.png Environments - Ceramic Vase https://www.oneandonlyziggy.com/environments/p/the-ember-vessel-xp493-d33y5 monthly 0.5 2026-10-27 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5ffa16ab6296c62df8760871/1780932030.400196-PVJXUVNQTGHANYFOPEFS/imgg-gg3p-BC-DQ--F-aba08769.png Environments - Textured Ceramic Vase https://www.oneandonlyziggy.com/environments/p/the-horizon-vase-9c9db-aa5gg monthly 0.5 2026-10-27 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5ffa16ab6296c62df8760871/1780932030.419557-MXJVRTNSXTRLCARVXVGR/imgg-gg3p-BC-DQ-Y-dbd93a96.png Environments - Handcrafted Ceramic Vase https://www.oneandonlyziggy.com/environments/p/the-solace-vessel-a6346-9bbk7 monthly 0.5 2026-10-27 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5ffa16ab6296c62df8760871/1780932030.174181-FBMFIAHYALKSWQZSCTQP/imgg-gg3p-BC-DQ-U-9d4bb91d.png Environments - Handcrafted Ceramic Vase
